Not only do you save on energy costs when you work with us, but you also can get thousands of $$ back in rebates and incentives. Here are a few of the programs that The Hoots Group is a part of and will assist you with in getting money back for making green upgrades in your house. In some cases you can get up to 65% of your investment back in tax incentives!
We are the only building performance contractor in GA that can offer you all of these rebates. Just recently, on a basic renovation, one homeowner qualified for over 10K in rebates and incentives by using us to do their geothermal, solar thermal, and insulation. The tax incentives were great, but they also qualified to get rebate from GA Power as well for $1900.
Here is a detailed list of the rebates, credits and incentives that we can help you with as your green renovator, green builder or building performance contractor now. Note that these are all rebates and incentives offered by 3rd parties and that The Hoots Group will help get the incentives as they are available but does not control when the rebates are given back.

Geothermal HVAC*

$2,000.00 per dwelling unit applies for clean energy property related to geothermal heat pumps.
Federal
All ENERGY STAR labeled geo-thermal heat pumps qualify for the tax credit. 30% of total costs with no cap!
Summary: You save 4K total by going with geothermal in a residential house. If you want geothermal in your business we can save you even more!
Solar Hot Water Rebates*

Jackson EMC- Right Chice Sun Power Rebate Program
$450 per installation for solar water heaters dwelling unit
State
35% of the total up to $2,500.00 per dwelling unit applies for clean energy property related to solar energy equipment for domestic water heating. We have also got confirmation that our solar pool heaters qualify as well.
Federal
Tax credits are available for qualified solar water heating systems. The credits are available for systems “placed in service” from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2008. The tax credit is for 30% of the cost of the system, with no cap!
Summary: The combination of the federal and state credits add up to $4500. The typcial system starts around 8000 +/- depending on how far the panels are from the tank. With the credit the system is around $3500 or around $3000 with the Jackson EMC rebate. The payback according to the DOE is less that 7 years in most cases. The Hoots Group is authorized to install the systems approves by the state and Jackson EMC.
