Matt Hoots is President/ CEO of SawHorse, Inc., an award winning design/ build firm in Atlanta, GA. He began his journey towards a green design lifestyle and value system at an early age. His parents taught him the basic principles behind energy efficient design and energy conservation. As he continued his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology and became more interested in residential construction, he started to develop an appreciation for advanced building science.
Matt holds 2 certifications from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) including Certified Remodelor (CR) and Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC). He is also Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified and has completed EarthCraft House and LEED for Homes training. He is part of the founding committee and chair of the GAHBA Green Building Council. He also writes a green column for Atlanta Home Improvement Magazine, is a contributing writer for Networx.com and residential remodeling expert on Hometalk.com.
SawHorse has won over 125 design awards of the years and is in the top 10 remodeling firms in Atlanta. Since 2001, they have completed the most certified EarthCraft House renovations in the program and in 2011 they won EarthCraft Renovation Project of the Year.
